Adorable?

There are so many words in the English language that seem to be used incorrectly. For example the word “adorable” means worthy of being liked or loved. In other words a puppy is not adorable because he’s cute. He would be adorable if he ran into a dangerous building and saved someone’s life though. The word Glory is a lot like that. We always want to give God the “glory” for all good things in life but what does that really mean. I was surprised to learn I could give God glory or glorify him better with my actions more than what I say or give to him.

One of the most important things we can learn about God is how he wants to love us. There are so many ways to love other people from serving them a meal when they are hungry to listening to them talk when they’ve had a hard day. We can talk to them and share our lives so they know they’re not the only ones that feel the way they do. When I think of how God wants to love us I think of one word: Blessing. A blessing is something God gives us or does for us that shows he loves us. Careful though! God also knows what’s best for us... so his idea of a blessing may not match ours.

Sarah (8 years old) from Illinois asks:
Do I really need to practice the piano for 30 minutes every day? That seems like a lot of time to be playing the same song.
