Part Of The Family

Yesterday I found out that a boy my kids went to school with suddenly lost his father. As a dad, this struck close to my heart. I know that the father who passed away was a good Christian, devoted father, and is rejoicing in the presence of God today. However, I also know that this doesn’t lessen the pain of the loss for those left behind. Separation from the people we love is painful to experience. And while we always have a Father in heaven, I know that there is a boy and his sister who will be missing their earthly father and will be needing comfort from the rest of us who are “part of the family” of God. So I would like to pray for this particular family here: God please be these children's comfort, hope and strength. Be a very present help in their time of trouble. We know that you are comforting their father today with you in heaven. Please provide comfort for them here on earth and help the rest of us to be Your comforters for them, also. When you are part of the family of God, you should be making efforts to diminish the pain and hardships of your brothers and sisters. Pray for someone today. Take time to do little things to help one another through this life until we can all be together again in heaven.
